Pioneer Community Hospital of Aberdeen enables adults 65 or older to improve their daily functioning and quality of life.

Pioneer provides a free assessment to determine an individual’s symptom and make recommendations for treatment in our program. Arrangements for a no-charge assessment at a nursing facility, an assisted living center, and a hospital or within a person’s home may be scheduled.

Our Senior Care Unit is staffed with an outstanding treatment team of psychiatrist, psychologists, registered nurses, social workers, professional counselors and physicians who monitor medical and emotional needs of patients.

Appropriate and Common Candidates

• Major Depression
• Bipolar Disorder
• Psychotic Disorder
• Acute Anxiety
• Dementia with recent severe behavioral onset
• Suicidal Ideation

Other Candidates

• Delirium attributed to Addiction
• Early stage Alzheimer’s disease
• Disorientation
• Withdrawal from others
• Lack of energy or interest to care for oneself
• Danger to oneself or others

We provide:

• In-home or facility no cost evaluation
• Transportation provided to and from our facility
• Continuum of care after discharge
• Staff in-service at no cost to your facility
• 24 Hours, 7 Day per Week Emergency Number
